In this immersive class, you will explore the dynamic and expressive medium of fabric collage to create a striking female guardian spirit, guide, or totemic figure. Using color and composition, you will craft a unique artistic representation of the beauty, strength, protection, and resilience women bring to your life. Your guardian figure could be very personal, drawing on the women you have known and cherished or she might be imagined, magical and mysterious. What does your guardian spirit look like. Let’s find out together. This art class offers a unique opportunity to blend creativity with meaning, allowing you to express your vision of strength and guardianship through fabric collage. It encourages artistic exploration while fostering a sense of community and inspiration. At the end of the class, you will have created a unique fabric collage artwork ready for hanging or further embellishment. You will have learned to work with fabric in a new and creative way and you’ll have a deeper appreciation of symbolic storytelling in visual arts. No sewing required
*This is a stand-alone class. However, it is a companion class to Fabric Dyeing – 16 x 20 Inch Gel Plate. What could be more perfect than incorporating your hand dyed fabrics into your personal vision of the guardian, ‘she who watches.’
