Sashiko Bonsai

Sashiko stitching can be applied to any graphic or linear design. What more perfect a design than one of Japans other cultural art forms; the exquisitely formed Bonsai. Nature in miniature.  In this class students will have a choice of  suitable fabrics to use as a stitching base and then choose their preference of Sashiko thread to carry out the stitching.
Skill level: Confident beginners and up. Note: All handwork, no sewing machine needed.

Materials Fee $15 paid at beginning of class includes:

Patterns,
background fabric panel,
stabilizer,
Sashiko thread,
needles,
and use of instructor’s marking tools

Supplies Needed  to bring for Class:

Small scissors or thread snips
A thimble (if you prefer to use one).A small portable light table (if you have one – I will have a couple for students to share).A portable light and magnifier (if you have one and it helps you see better for precise stitching.
