Metal clay consists of fine silver, water and an organic binder. It is a clay-like substance that can be rolled, sculpted and cut into almost any shape. It can be combined with many materials, including fireable gemstones. After firing, using either a torch/bunsen burner or a kiln, the water and binder burn away, leaving only precious, fine silver. Jewelry made of metal clay can be worn and enjoyed for many years

Explore the endless possibilities of inlaying various materials into jewelry made of fine silver. Each student will design and make a pendant out of fine silver clay. After firing the pendant will be decorated with an inlay of wood and abalone and sealed with resin. Your pendant will be a treasure, unique to you

Materials Fee $55 paid at beginning of class includes:

fine silver metal clay, metal clay paste as needed, abalone, wood, resin.
