Folk Art Painting: Birch Trees and Chickadees.
The style of folk art painting is simple imagery with rustic lines, often telling a story of everyday life. In this class we will paint a grove of birch trees surrounding a cozy house. Chickadees are charming chunky birds that add light and joy to the landscape and we will fill the house by drawing some of our favorite things (examples are: flowers, food, coffee, cat/dog, books). No experience is necessary. Your painting and drawing style will emerge throughout the class. Individuality is what makes each artist shine. We will use chalk as an outline so there is lots of time to practice/erase/fine tune your work.
