Let’s make something beautiful and meaningful using paper bags, pretty paper, old pages, and other ephemera. I’ll show you how to sew some simple signatures using various plain, printed, and handmade papers, as well as paper lunch bags. I will have paper, waxed thread, bone folders, needles, and other tools available for students to use. We will attempt to sew 10 signatures and also make a decorative, collaged cover for our journal. Once assembled, we’ll use a fancy ribbon or strap system to keep our journal closed. This journal will have lots of pockets for your treasures. Feel free to bring anything you’d like to incorporate into your one of a kind personal journal. This is a great way to incorporate personal mementos into a small handheld piece of art. This class is beginner friendly.
