Join Sunny in a fun adventure of starting from a black background! We will paint a surreal little scene in acrylics. Sunny will guide you in finding a character you will enjoy even if you think you can’t draw. Acrylics are so fun, bright and “layerable”.
Supplies Needed For Class
Black Canvas Board (You can either buy them already Gesso’d black or Gesso them yourself before class. My samples are small 4” x 4”. If you don’t like painting small, bring larger but no bigger than 5” x 7” for the sake of time)
Acrylic paints (for these projects I used a combination of inexpensive Acrylic paints and Golden Fluid Acrylics. The cheap paints came from Hobby Lobby. The brand is Crafter’s Collection and cost .49 each! Bring any colors you like. For the Fluid Acrylics, specifically on my faces I use Burnt Umber Light, Paynes Gray, Quinacridone Magenta, Pyrrole Red Light)
For my base face color I use Paper Artsy Fresco Finish paint in the color “Chalk”. If you can’t find this paint, an Ivory color in another brand will do.
Brushes: I use Princeton Snap Filbert Size 4, Round Size 2 and Liner Size 3/0
