Learn how to add a splash of vibrant non-gem color to your jewelry metal! We’ll use Prismacolor colored pencils to create rich and layered color on copper or brass shapes and then create an easy pair of earrings in class.
Further details:
In addition to the coloring techniques, your instructor will delve into easy-to-follow Color and Design theory with tips and tricks for getting harmonious combinations, a few simple metal forming techniques for breaking free from “the flats,”and easy joining ideas for turning your works of art into a wearable. Don’t worry if you “can’t draw” – we have a large selection of inspirational patterns and stencils on hand for the timid! Depending on your speed and skill level, you will complete a pair of earrings and/or one pendant or focal element in class
A physical note: We will be using traditional art supplies and a low-odor fixative to set the color on the metal – keep this in mind if you are uncomfortable with walking in and out of the classroom several times during class to spray your work!
