Feathers are often regarded as messages from the spirits. Use real feathers and feather images to make reusable stencils. Then create delightful collages using recycled paper as if it is paint to create a unique work of art featuring fanciful feathers. You will create paper feathers to collage on to a multimedia background and produce one or two frame-ready works of art. No drawing skills needed.

Supplies Needed to bring for Class:
-Feather images that appeal to you. These can be in a book but photocopies are easier to use to make stencils.
-Found or purchased feathers to use as models or to glue into the collage.
-Papers that appeal to you, especially old maps, scrapbook sheets, music, etc. I especially like Native American textile pictures such as Navajo rugs for feathers.
-Maps that have significance for you
-A cutting mat if you have one
-Scissors
Optional: flat ornaments to glue on, such as buttons, ribbon, or charms. Also feather related rubber stamps and ink pads.
