A deeper dive into linocut block printmaking. We will have time for a more complex image and the option of a 2-color print. We will cover image transfer methods, positive and negative space, safety while carving, and instill confidence in carving. We will learn about registration for a 2-color print. Bring an image or choose one from the instructor. We will print on a variety of papers and cardstocks. You will leave with several prints, cards, and the inspiration to continue on your own. All skill levels are welcome. Your carved block can be used again and again, in whatever print medium you desire.
Materials Fee $30 paid at beginning of class includes:
Shared, consumable materials including various papers, cards, pencils, markers, vellum, Speedy Carve blocks, block printing inks, gloves and paper towels.
Instructor will have linocut and printing tools available for student use during class.
Supplies Needed to bring for Class:
Bring an apron, if desired. Come with an idea or an image that can be used on a 4x6 substrate. If you already own tools, please feel free to bring them along.
