Eclectic Boho Beads

Lynn Blair
6:30 - 9:30
Tuesday Eve - March 16
$110.00

With the guidance of the instructor students will take "scraps" of fabric, yarn, lace, seed beads, and mixed-media items, restructuring them creating beautiful, useful and adorning Boho beads.  After assembling all our supplies we will create the “center” base of the bead.  As a group, the instructor will walk you through each layer of the Boho bead discussing what is added next to the center core, why and how.  Fabric, lace, yarn, wire, charms and beads will be carefully layered for effect to eventually create our eclectic Boho bead made from a variety of mixed media scraps and supplies.  Additionally, the instructor will teach the group how to make spiral elements with wire.  These beads are sturdy and can be used on:  a keychain, on a book bag zipper pull, to adorn gifts, worn as a necklace, worn as earrings (smaller version), as curtain tieback dangles (larger version), to adorn a bookmark, or as holiday ornaments.  The instructor will bring completed Boho beads in a variety of sizes which are color-related, theme-related and holiday-related we will admire together before we get started to help spark your creativity.  This is a fun, whimsical class, full of laughter and wonder as the different elements from our scrap pile result in a functional work of art and beauty.  No two beads will be alike which makes this project all the more delightful and fun!
