Many art classes teach you what to add. This one teaches you what to leave out. We’ll work against the impulse to fill every inch, fix every “mistake,” and keep going past the point where a piece was already done. This isn’t about minimalism as an aesthetic — clean lines, neutral palettes, the Instagram version of “less is more.” It’s about restraint as a practice: the discomfort of stopping early, the discipline of a single deliberate gesture over twenty anxious ones, learning to trust that absence can say more than accumulation. Expect some frustration. Expect to fight the urge to “finish” things.
