In this workshop, you'll discover the power of working in a series. Rather than creating a single collage, you'll develop three related pieces using a limited palette, similar design motifs, and a limited compositional framework.
Working this way gives you freedom to experiment, compare ideas, and see firsthand how small creative decisions can completely change the personality of a piece. Along the way you'll deepen your understanding of design, strengthen your creative instincts, and gain confidence in your own artistic voice.
You'll leave with three original collages, a richer understanding of composition, and perhaps most importantly, a new way of thinking about your creative process. Perfect for all skill levels. No sewing required.

To Have:
Fabric substrate and batting for three separate original.
Supplies Needed to bring for Class:
1 or 2 solid-colored fabrics that play well together. These can be 12-inch squares to fat quarters.
A minimum of 7 to 8 printed fabrics in colors that complement your solids. Again, these can be 12-inch squares to fat quarters. Choose small interesting prints and that combine well with the solids you have chosen.
3 or 4 fabrics with more interesting, dramatic prints.
