Ostrkh egßhells have been a rich part of South Afrkan history. Over Son years ago carved beads were found in several areas in Africa. The San people of today, and their ancestors used the eashens as water containers. broken pieces as Cups and smaller sherds for beads. A person weighing 2001bs can stand on an ostrich eggshell without it breaking. In this workshop you will make a shell bowl embellished with African trade beads, other earthy beads. porcupine quilb and assorted imitation gold and leaf

Half ostrich eggshell
African trade beads
Porcupine quills
Cotton cord
Imitation gold and copper leaf
Leaf size (adhesive)
Stand for ecshell bowl

Supplies Needed  to bring for Class:

Scissors
Craft knife
Adhesive: Super glue,
contact adhesive
Wide, very soft brush for applying leaf size
Embellishments: feathers, twigs, raffia, feathers
Pencil
Permanent black felt tip pen
